The Marketing and Communications Assistant
Pay $23- $26.00
Mon- Fri- 8 am-5 pm
Must be able to anticipate and resolve issues, have excellent customer service skills, and interact with a diverse group of internal and external individuals at all levels of the organization. The ideal candidate is a resourceful, confident, detail-oriented marketing and administrative professional who can demonstrate initiative, flexibility, collaboration, business acumen, and excellent judgment. In addition, this individual must be committed to the mission and will report to and work directly with the Executive Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree preferred in administration, marketing, public relations, or a similar field.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in journalism, creator of social and media marketing, or any equivalent combination of education and experience
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher & Excel) in addition to Adobe, Canva, and WordPress
• Valid California License, good driving record, and maintenance of automobile insurance
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Proven record of providing outstanding internal and external customer service
• Experience in preparing and delivering marketing materials and presentations.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and problem-solving ability • Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and multitask.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. • Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented orally and in writing.
• Ability to communicate information and ideas in writing and orally so others will understand.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

• Highly desirable experience in Paid Social Media, Google Ads, Video Production, and Google Analytics

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Create and post weekly and monthly posts to various social media platforms.
• Manage and maintain social media platforms.
• Provide support with designing new flyers and marketing materials.
• Assist in creating and editing presentation materials, including on-site event flyers, site-wide communications, etc.
• Maintain confidentiality around sensitive matters.
• Work independently and together within a team on special non-recurring and ongoing projects.
• Work effectively with management and provide administrative support with high regard for quality.
• Answer incoming calls promptly.
• Manage and maintain the website.
• Gather and analyze data about social media channels and the website.
• Manage ads and marketing efforts on owned media.
• Produces media for public relations efforts, including but not limited to press releases, presentations, and promotional events.
• Assist with client intake appointments.
• Manage and maintain an office supply inventory. • Maintain server network weekly backup.
• Represent at meetings and outreach events.
• Assist in managing family history profiles. • Adhere and comply with Personal Identifiable Information (PII).
• Ensure accurate and timely data entry as needed.
• Deliver high-regard service excellence to internal and external clients.
• Perform other duties as assigned
