SalaryCCMB is a research laboratory located on the Health Sciences Campus of the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. CCMB is a part of the Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC.
The laboratory is funded through numerous federal and organization sponsored research grants. Many of these grants are from the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research, under which basic research is conducted into developmental, biochemical and molecular biological aspects of human development with a special emphasis on craniofacial structures in both health and disease.
Working together, we are advancing oral, dental, and craniofacial research toward solving problems in health and promoting the well-being of society.
CCMB is looking for a Public Communications Coordinator to join the team!
Job Summary:
This position will develop and implement public communication strategies to promote the center's research projects and programs. Coordinate public relations initiatives to effectively describe the center's work in biomedical research. Assist in preparing research manuscripts and grant applications to support the center's objectives. Ensure clear and concise communication of the center's research activities to the public and stakeholders. Collaborate with researchers and staff to accurately represent the center's mission and impact in the field of biomedical research.
Job Accountabilities:
- Manages social media marketing strategies and social commerce activities.
- Engages with and participates in community interactions.
- Monitors online media presence and performance.
- Creates content for marketing purposes.
- Maintains and develops the website and database.
- Coordinates and manages press and communication tasks, including interviews and website news.
- Responsible for online branding efforts, identifying and enhancing brand-related aspects on social media.
- Acts as a backup to the Front Desk/Administrative Assistant II during their absence.
- Offers general administrative support to the CCMB team.
Job Qualifications:
- A confident communicator and presenter with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Full understanding of media needs and relationships.
- Proactive, reliable, responsible, and accurate with great attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
- Proficient in primary social media platforms.
- Self-motivated with a positive and professional management approach.

The hourly rate range for this position is $30.35 - $32.00. Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education Minimum Experience: 2 years Minimum Field of Expertise: Public relations, journalism, advertising or related field.
