L3Harris, Communication Systems-West (CSW) is looking for an experienced Manager for our Waveform Processing department within the Digital Design and Signal Processing group. The person in this position will manage a team of 10-20 engineers of multiple experience levels from entry level to mid-level. Because of the diversity of skills in the group, it is imperative that the manager has strong technical knowledge to make good staffing decisions and provide meaningful reviews and guidance. This engineering group performs implementation of baseband signal processing for digital waveforms mainly using Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs). These implementation frequenly interface to ADCs, DACs, network interfaces and microprocessor interfaces. This group also provides digital design support for new business development, systems engineering, and product line engineering.
Management responsibilities include:
+ Coordination and management of all efforts assigned to the group
+ Ensuring best schedule and cost performance
+ Technical review of all work done within the group
+ Ensuring technical synergy, competence, efficiency, and completeness
+ Staffing assignments and coordination
+ Employee career development and performance reviews
+ Work forecasting and hiring coordination
+ Bid and proposal support, staffing and review
+ Point of Contact for other engineering disciplines, programs, operations
+ Development and approval of group engineering processes and guidelines
+ Also ensures process and procedures are followed correctly
Minimum qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.
Desired Qualifications:
+ 1+ years of prior or current management / team lead / project lead experience as well as 5+ years of EW, Wireless Comms or DSP related digital design experience
+ Strong communication skills, both written and oral are required
+ Advanced degree in Engineering and/or Business Administration
+ Experience in DoD accepted engineering development practices, processes, and documentation
+ Experience with bidding, planning, and executing related engineering development efforts
+ Experience with EVMS, cost proposal management systems, Jira, and MS Project
+ Experience with VHDL, C, C++, and Matlab
+ Experience leading engineering project teams
+ Demonstrated responsibility/accountability for budgets exceeding $1M
