Overview:

SageSure, a leader in catastrophe-exposed property insurance, is seeking a Manager, Policy Forms Quality & Compliance. In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in designing and executing tests to ensure that our policies in production align seamlessly with filed, approved, and intended rate, rule, and form manuals. Working in close collaboration with the Compliance Officer, you will oversee testing and audit routines, ensuring they effectively meet these objectives.

Your responsibilities will extend to conducting audits on our existing book of business, analyzing result trends, and implementing corrective processes to enhance quality outcomes. As a crucial member of the Program Operations team, the Manager of Policy Forms Quality & Compliance will contribute to establishing standardized business and technical requirements. This includes supporting documentation of requirements on individual projects, validating insurance product-related business and technical requirements, and obtaining necessary approvals.

To excel in this role, we seek a candidate with a robust background in insurance, encompassing a deep understanding of the market entry process. The ideal candidate will be adept at translating business requirements into precise technical specifications and securing agreement on the accuracy of the translation. A continuous improvement mindset, a sense of urgency, and motivation linked directly to enhanced quality results and process improvements are key attributes for success.


What you'd be doing:


  • Collaborate with Compliance to design audit criteria and methodology, with a primary focus on identifying regulatory gaps in State requirements and product defects contrary to business design.
  • Deliver audit results as primary objective.
  • Engage with key stakeholders across Program Ops, Compliance, Product, Coverage and QA to design and implement routines and processes ensuring compliance requirements are met.
  • Develop and refine processes for auditing and quality checking of personal and commercial production business.
  • Establish reporting routines for trend analysis and communicating results.
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities in audit/quality routines.
  • Work closely with Director of Product and Coverage to ensure to ensure accurate interpretation of coverage forms and implications to the overall product relative to other forms and/or rating.
  • Coordinate with the insurance product quality assurance function to improve understanding of product analysis requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Product Analysis to identify and implement opportunities to improve the overall quality and efficiency of requirements across the team.
  • Work with key stakeholders on guidelines and product maintenance to ensure we comply with regulatory and state laws including Compliance, Director of Product and Coverage, and Product Development Program Director.
  • Ensure correct and consistent changes are installed in the organization through change management and the establishment of proper controls.
  • Actively participate in the delivery of changes to our current product analysis processes and procedures.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in Personal Lines Insurance Coverage to support the organization.
  • Work with Program Operations leadership and key stakeholders to improve processes and procedures.
  • Ad-hoc initiatives and duties as they arise.

We're looking for someone who has:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business/Insurance, Computer Science, or related discipline or equivalent relevant on-the-job training.
  • 10+ years of Property & Casualty property insurance – Personal Insurance & Designations preferred.
  • Significant experience with Personal Lines Forms, Rates, and UW Rules.
  • Understanding of industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Experience with insurance policy administration and sales and service systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to convey complex issues and solutions appropriately, tailored to different audiences. Strong attention to detail with demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a demonstrated sense of urgency.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage large volumes of work throughout an organization.
