Legal Assistant/Paralegal

Description:

Part-Time Legal Assistant for Solo Practitioner - SKS Law, PLLC, Austin, Texas

*Remote but must reside in the Austin, Texas area

Qualifications:

• Legal Assistant/Paralegal with at least three years of civil litigation experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and timekeeping/billing software
• Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff
• Must be able to multi-task and manage time efficiently

Job Responsibilities:

• Reviewing and organizing documents and discovery
• Drafting basic discovery requests and responses
• Scheduling with multiple parties and maintaining calendar with meetings and deadlines
• Drafting correspondence and simple pleadings, motions, and notices
• Proofreading formal correspondence and filings
• Communicating by phone and email with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff

Pay: $25/hour

Hours: 20 hours per week with some flexibility on when work is done in any given week. The position will be fully remote to start with regularly scheduled Zoom meetings and occasional in-person meetings.
