Summary of Position:
The Leasing Agent will show and lease apartment homes to prospective residents including interviewing and recording information to determine needs and qualifications, assisting prospects in completing the application for an apartment, accurately prepares lease forms and other necessary paperwork and collects the deposit and application fees. The successful Leasing Agent happily and readily accompanies prospects to show the apartment homes discussing size and layout of rooms, available amenities at the community, such as swimming pool, business center, work out, and laundry facilities. Knowledge of the surrounding neighborhood including location of schools, retail shopping, restaurants, and services available to residents is a must. All business will be conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures, Fair Housing, Americans with Disabilities Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and all other laws pertaining to the mily industry. The ideal candidate will be a successful sales expert, people-friendly with an outgoing personality that strives to make prospects and current residents feel welcome and comfortable in their community.
Job Qualifications:
1 – 2 years of experience preferred
Proficiency with Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Previous Property Management Software experience is a plus, preferably ResMan.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Ability to handle multiple high-priority tasks
Comfortable interacting with a variety of individuals and entities in varied situations
Exceptional organizational skills and time management
Job Requirements:
Minimum of 1 year of customer service or sales experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Must be able to fluently speak and understand English, Spanish language a plus.
Must be trustworthy and dependable
Must be flexible and able to work alternate schedules as needed
Must report to work on time with a neat and professional appearance, and be courteous and pleasant to residents and associates at all times.
Must have reliable transportation with a valid state-issued driver's license and current liability vehicle insurance.
Must be able to successfully clear a background check, drug screen, and an MVR.
Physical Demands:
Inspection of property will include climbing of stairs. The position may require lifting, carrying, and pushing, pulling 25 lbs. Occasionally, frequently up to 15 lbs. or negligible amounts regularly. Must be able to sit for long periods. Phone usage is also required, as is the need to speak professionally and clearly.
