Job Summary — This position is responsible for supporting the keying needs of CIH’s Contract Sales department, by conducting key meetings, creating and releasing core/key purchase orders, work orders, and stock requisitions, and problem-solving keying questions related to ongoing contract/new construction projects. This role will be focusing on an ongoing queue of projects and is expected to proactively manage the ongoing keying needs; communicate efficiently and accurately with PM’s, end customers, contractors, and manufacturers; and follow these projects through to completion. This employee will be expected to enter merchandise quotes and orders, meet with end customers to guide them through building keying systems and solutions, track the progress of open projects that require keying solutions, and proactively support our customers to ensure the keying solutions we provide exceed their expectations.
The Keying Project Coordinator is responsible and accountable for assisting our customers and the contract sales team by-
- Delivering excellent customer service by having a professional and positive attitude in all interactions with customers
- Maintain and create customer and contractor relationships
- Answering customer/PM calls and being able to take orders, answer questions, or direct them to additional assistance
- Learning products and how to best direct customers to the items they need
- Stay abreast of industry options and standards by participating in education webinars, seminars, and trainings
- Using the operating system to create and release quotes and sales orders, as well as manage project purchase orders, work orders, and stock requisitions
- Studying and staying current in door hardware and keying products
- Receiving payment or obtaining credit applications
- Work with end customers, contractors, project managers, and manufacturer reps to collaborate on Keying Projects, provide complete and secure keying solutions, and ensure accurate and timely progress on open projects
- Performing other related duties as necessary or assigned
- Learn and use industry and product knowledge
- Proficiency with technology / data entry and management
- Project management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects congruently
- Organizational and time management skills, with a commitment to accuracy/details in your work
Experience & Other Requirements
- Previous experience with door hardware and masterkeying/key system management
- Familiarity with keying standards and nomenclature from brands like ASSAAbloy/Allegion brands such as Medeco, Yale, Falcon, and Schlage is a huge plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Top-notch customer service and organizational skills
- Ability to read and understand specifications as well as door, hardware, and key schedules
- Ability to multi-task as several projects will be running simultaneously
- A sales or customer service background in Commercial Door/Frame/Hardware is preferred
- Experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Promaster, and Comsense is highly desirable
