We are looking to hire a Production Control Planner in Santa Fe Springs, CA This is a contract to hire opportunity to join our Production department.
Pay: $25.00/hour
Schedule: Monday- Friday; 7am- 3:30pm
Job Summary: The Production Control Planner is responsible for developing and maintaining product schedules and timelines to ensure that product delivery schedules are met.
Essential Functions:
- Creates production schedules and capacity plans, publishes production schedules and requirements
- Handles all phases of the ERP system , ordering material, releasing material to the shop, and rescheduling as needed
- Ensures compliance with order policies based on contract specifications; batch size, lead times, CRP
- Check status of released jobs, including tooling and experimental
- Update charts on parts status and codes as applicable
- Communicate with Manufacturing Manager regarding order schedules, delays
- Verify delivery status by calling or visiting vendors to ensure on time delivery schedules
- Develop priority list for vendor for delivery dates and milestone charts for customers with delayed delivery schedules
- Verify inventory levels and reschedule deliveries when necessary to maintain required inventory levels
- Review contracts for, performance and schedules
- Communicates with customers as needed; provides updates on order status, delays
- Establish MRP parameters including lot size, minimum quantity, safety stock and others
- Manage variety of internal reports
- Carries out day-to-day work following the departments continuous improvement plan
Non-Essential Functions:
- In accordance with the companies' policies, promote safety by working in a safe manner at all times
- Prepare various reports as required, including backlog report, customer status, and update sheets
- Communicate with internal and external customers
- Perform job with minimum of supervision
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Minimum Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Production Planner in an aerospace environment
Minimum Education:
- Higher education preferred
Certifications/Licenses:
- Forklift certification preferred
Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of MRP/ERP database applications
- Strong communications skills required, both oral and written
- Basic math skills required
- Computer proficiency required
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite
- Perform job with minimum of supervision
- Work within a team environment
- Respond with sensitivity to people of diverse perspectives
Work Environment:
- Office environment with standard computer equipment and set up with dual monitors
Physical Demands/ Conditions:
- Sit at a computer, keying alpha and numeric data for 50% of the time
- Occasionally lifts 10-20lbs unassisted and push light, bulky items on a rolling cart
- Employee is required to be alert to detail and use caution around moving material
- While performing the duties of the job, employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, chemicals, airborne particles and fumes
Schedule: 7am- 3:30pm; $25/hour
