Job Description
I. POSITION SUMMARY
As part of our team, Ekso’s Production and Supply Chain Planner will be responsible for leading the company’s production, Supply Chain, and inventory functions. This position will need to take ownership of production to meet quarterly targets, manage the Supply Chain process, and ensure inventory accuracy. This position will report to the Senior Director of Operations.
Essential JOB FUNCTIONS
Production:
· Take ownership of the company’s production planning and ensure quality products are produced to meet customer demands.
· Help to develop SOPs to improve production efficiency.
· Establishment of production KPI's with reporting of those on a regular basis.
· Audit production orders for accuracy on materials and returns from production.
· Enforce proper procedures for non-conforming parts; assist in the maintenance of the MRB area.
· Publish data reports determined by management (i.e. aging, WIP reconciliation, and transaction reports).
· Assist in the development of new procedures to improve warehouse operations.
· Maintain all production equipment calibration and maintenance.
· Review all logs and documents for completeness and accuracy.
INVENTORY:
· Act as a materials coordinator to ensure inventory accuracy and consolidation as required.
· Prepare and issue kits to the Manufacturing floor. Organize and prioritize as needed to keep manufacturing running efficiently.
· Refine/improve processes for signing in and signing out parts from inventory.
· Monitor the receiving of raw materials to ensure mandatory receiving procedures are followed. U
· Perform cycle counts as determined by Management and maintain accuracy of cycle count data and reporting, including checking receipts to verify accuracy of counts.
· Research any inventory related issues, resolve inaccuracies and set processes in place to ensure inventory accuracy.
· Inventory management to minimize excess material and maximize order fulfillment.
· Use MRP system to anticipate and prevent inventory shortages by monitoring inventory levels and PO promise dates, exploring expedite options with the supplier as necessary.
SUPPLY CHAIN:
· Strategically sources and oversees the Supply Chain for parts purchasing to meet build plan.
· Work with Sr. Director of Operations on supplier management, sourcing & demand management, cost reduction and supplier quality initiatives on both a tactical and strategic basis.
· Interfaces extensively with external and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination and hand offs between all contributors to the Supply Chain function.
· Leads and optimizes the purchasing and Supply Chain team (including Buyers, Planners).
· Manages Supply Chain from NPI through final shipment to ensure compliance to specification, quality requirements, delivery commitments and commercial terms.
· Leads Supplier Quality initiatives to ensure health, responsiveness, and capability of Supply Chain.
· Works with warehouse operations to ensure lean material flow.
· Drives effective and timely communication between upstream and downstream stakeholders to ensure optimal Supply Chain performance, agility and flexibility.
· Proactively seeks out and champions opportunities for improvement and innovation within the Supply Chain and in the relationships between the Supply Chain and other business functions.
III. POSITION SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS:
· 5+ years’ experience in progressive Supply Chain management, purchasing or materials management roles preferably in a manufacturing environment.
· Medical device manufacturing experience preferred.
· Basic working knowledge of bill of materials (BOM) and revision controls.
· Well versed in Value Stream Mapping of Supply Chain operations with a focus on continuous improvement.
· Proficient in MS Office applications (especially Excel), MRP and ERP systems, and a working knowledge of Infor ERP a plus.
· Working knowledge with Kaizen, 5S, Lean manufacturing.
· Works effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment with shifting priorities and multiple deadlines.
· Communicates effectively with others cross-functionally (verbal and written).
· Strong analytical skills with ability to problem solve and make decisions following company procedures.
· Safety Awareness: identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety.
EDUCATION
· Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience preferably in manufacturing production, Supply Chain, procurement/materials.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds
Our business operates across multiple industries and regions. In healthcare, Ekso is a market leader in neurological rehabilitation with our EksoNR, Indego, and Personal products. We market and sell our products to hospitals and rehabilitation centers in North America, Europe, and Asia. Service is performed at multiple locations in each region. In our industrial business, the primary commercial focus is in the US with international expansion. Industrial products are sold through both direct and indirect channels, and primarily serviced by Ekso directly.
