It Project Manager

The role of the IT Project Manager is to plan and implement projects of various sizes and complexities to support critical strategic objectives across all business areas at Zap Energy. This includes coordinating resources and aligning the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects effectively on short timescales. The IT Project Manager will also define project end goals and oversee quality control throughout the project life cycle (from planning and infrastructure setup through implementation and maintenance) using proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills and mature organizational intelligence.  

Responsibilities:  

• Create and maintain a prioritized IT project plan against Zap Energy’s core IT strategy to maximize security, productivity, and user experience in all aspects of daily work. 
• Manage conception and execution of all IT projects, from project scoping, budgeting, and scheduling through to planning tasks, timeline, resourcing, risk mitigation, communication and training plans, and maintenance. 
• Manage the activities of the IT team to effectively execute all aspects of IT projects. 
• Coordinate with technology, business, and vendor teams to ensure the project success and stakeholder buy-in. 
• Ensures that technical and project documentation is created and maintained. 
• Escalate problems as necessary to ensure awareness and seek assistance with resolution when necessary 
• Present to executives on the content and status of IT projects. 
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert for products that the IT team rolls out and supports 
• Actively plan and support continuous improvement initiatives; work to eliminate waste and optimize enterprise systems. 

Minimum Requirements 

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent  
• 3 or more years direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution. Experience in IT a major plus. 
• Proficient technical working knowledge of IT 
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills; ability to motivate people and manage resources effectively and work with business partners to achieve goals on aggressive timelines. 
• Outstanding organizational, time management, presentation and customer service skills. 
• Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment 
• Ability to work effectively and flexibly in a fast-moving and dynamic environment 

The estimated salary range for this position is $120k - $160k. Candidates may be considered for other positions at Zap Energy and actual salary will be based on relevant education, experience, and other qualifications.  Range is published in accordance with Washington Equal Pay and Opportunity Act.
