Job Summary

The Interim Assistance Reimbursement Coordinatorposition provides technical assistance, monitoring, and identification of Interim Assistance Agreements and resolves recovery issues related to such agreements. The position is also responsible for performing all accounting functions related to Interim Assistance Reimbursement (IAR) requests from the Federal Social Security Administration (SSA) for state cash assistance issued by the MAXIS benefits issuance system. Additionally, provide training and technical assistance both formally and informally to county and tribal nation eligibility workers on topics pertaining to Interim Assistance Agreements, Interim Assistance Recoveries, SOLQ database, and the MAXIS STAT/PBEN panel.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Support the Housing and Support Services Division's Interim Assistance Policy & System Analyst lead worker by providing technical assistance, training, monitoring, and identification of system issues related to Interim Assistance Agreements and Interim Assistance Recoveries.
- Implementing and maintaining the accounting policies and procedures regarding the preparation, submission, and reconciliation of Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Interim Assistance Reimbursement claim requests with the Social Security Administration.
- Analyze and answer questions of nuance and complexity related to the MAXIS STAT/PBEN panel, Interim Assistance Agreements and Social Security Administration policy around Interim Assistance.
- Provide training and technical assistance both formally and informally to county and tribal nation eligibility workerson topics pertaining to Interim Assistance Agreements, Interim Assistance Recoveries, SOLQ database, and the MAXIS STAT/PBEN panel.
- Administer and monitor Social Security Advocacy Services for contracted grantees of DHS to ensure contract compliance with federal and state services and benefits so that Minnesotans with disabilities and who are homeless receive equitable and fair access to increase their income and housing stability.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

Three (3) years professional experience working with adult cash public assistance programs, Interim Assistance, and the MAXIS eligibility system.
Experience must clearly demonstrate:
- Familiarity with adult cash public assistance programs such as General Assistance and Housing Support and Interim Assistance.
- Experience with the MAXIS eligibility system.
- Knowledge of SSI, Retirement, Survivors, and Disability Insurance, Medicaid, and Medicare programs.
- Experiencesimplifyingand presenting complex state public assistance policy information clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing to county and tribal nation eligibility workers .
- Skilled at using MS Office Suite programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
*Bachelor's Degree higher in Human Services, Public Health, Social Work, or related field may substitute for two(2) years of work experience.
**Master's Degree higher in Human Services, Public Health, Social Work, or related field can substitute for one(1) yearof work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.
- Familiarity of Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) programs and service delivery options.
- Familiarity of Social Security Administration disability programs.
