Part Time Human Resource Coordinator
The Human Resource Assistant is responsible for providing overall administrative support to the Human Resources department. This position has daily contact with employees which includes resolving employee issues, questions, onboarding of new staff, coordinating activities and facilitating department objectives. This is a part time position working onsite 21-25 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Perform general administrative duties such as setting up new employees in Paycom, assembling new hire packets, files, etc. for orientation.
- Assist with hiring process, new employee on-boarding and orientations, including tasks such as setting up interviews, conducting reference checks, completing new hire paperwork, and ensuring new employee files are accurate and complete.
- Verifies I-9 documentation.
- Assist in explaining company policies and benefits to new employees.
- Assist in recruitment efforts for all employees, including placement of ads and reviewing and closing applications.
- Maintain employee records, reports, directory, and personnel files.
- Reconcile and set vendor invoices for payment.
- Assist with planning and completion of employee events.
- Assist in benefits open-enrollment and administration.
- Assist in organizational training and development efforts.
- Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
- Assists with processing of terminations.
- Assists with the preparation of the performance review and feedback forms.
- Assists HR Director with various research projects and/or special projects.
- Provide backup coverage in the Museum Shop in emergencies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Requirements
- Experience with automated payroll system preferred.
- Knowledge of basic accounting practices
- Effective oral and written communication skills required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills required.
- Excellent computer skills required, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Qualifications/Education
- 2+ years office administrative experience
- Bachelor's degree, preferred.
- Prior Human Resources experience preferred.
- Prior knowledge of principles and practices of Human Resources preferred.
- Successful completion of Pre-employment background and drug screening
