The Coordinator for Talent Acquisition and Onboarding is primarily responsible for supporting and leading the efficient and high-quality execution of Talent Acquisition and onboarding tasks for the South Texas College Office of Human Resources. This role, which reports to the Staffing and Recruiting Manager, involves coordinating the progress of Talent Acquisition, delivering timely and pertinent communications to both candidates and internal stakeholders. The Coordinator for Talent Acquisition and Onboarding supervises assigned Talent Acquisition staff to lead the college's commitment to providing outstanding customer service to applicants, faculty, and staff.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Oversees the hiring process and oversees all steps of applicant tracking job description, position management, recruitment, and onboarding requirements for all South Texas College employees.
  2. Works collaboratively with college stakeholders to identify optimal and creative methods of recruitment for all staff and faculty positions, including in-person events.
  3. Works collaboratively with Public Relations and Marketing, and other stakeholders to develop materials that will enhance and maximize employee recruitment efforts.
  4. Advise hiring managers with developing or revising job descriptions for all faculty and staff positions.
  5. Direct search committee's on: hiring process including but not limited to, reviewing/approving evaluation criteria, and completing hiring proposal processes.
  6. Ensure that evaluation of applicants is in accordance with qualifications listed.
  7. Review applicant pools to ensure that every search is being conducted in a fair and unbiased manner according to STC's Affirmative Action guidelines. Present findings to Staffing Manager and/or Executive Director of Human Resources to take action.
  8. Supports all aspects of Talent Acquisition including assisting with creating and reviewing job descriptions, advertising positions, phone screening applicants, reviewing hiring proposals, and maintaining appropriate human resources data and records.
  9. Provides analysis of all hiring activity including but not limited to: number of applicants, job postings and search committee updates. Creates monthly new hire statistical reports including analysis of hires for the Executive Director of Human Resources.
  10. Responsible for continuously improving STC's hiring process to ensure a streamlined and efficient process by leveraging technology to reduce time to hire for all employee groups.
  11. Assists in the development, establishment, and review of, but not limited to, hiring manuals, trainings, procedures and timely communication of hiring procedures and policy updates.
  12. Ensures all hiring and onboarding records are maintained in compliance with college policies, federal and state regulations.
  13. Initiates college-wide employee onboarding resources to facilitate a sense of belonging for all employees. May assist the work of talent development providers to ensure seamless delivery of external training provider onboarding content.
  14. Travels throughout the college district, as needed.
  15. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience
  1. Bachelor's Degree required.
  2. At least two (2) years of work experience in a human resource or Talent Acquisition setting, required.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  1. Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  2. Computer knowledge to perform duties and responsibilities.
  3. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  4. Working knowledge of programs in higher educational setting is preferred.
  5. Ability to multi-task, establish priorities, manage workload, schedules and deadlines as required, in a timely manner.
  6. Knowledge of Banner enterprise resource system, highly preferred.
  7. Ability to adapt to constant change and periods of fast-paced, high-intensity work situations.
  8. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  9. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of employees, managers and the general public.
  10. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  11. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Checks, Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
  1. Security Sensitive position: all applicants are subject to a criminal background check under South Texas College policy.
  2. In addition, subject to a federal background check.
  3. Must have or qualify for a valid Texas driver's license and proof of liability insurance.

Physical Requirements
  1. Exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
  2. Bend body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. Occurs to a considerable degree and requires full motion of the lower extremities and back muscles.
  3. Pick, pinch, feel, type, or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.
  4. Frequently use substantial movements (motions) of the wrist, hands, arms, and/or fingers.
  5. Use upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.
  6. Walk and move to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
  7. Hear and perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discrimination in sound.
  8. Express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word including those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  9. Exhibit close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; and/or extensive reading.
