DESCRIPTION OF MAJOR JOB DUTIES
The Human Resource Assistant performs HUMAN RESOURCEs selection and recruitment duties in a timely manner while adhering to Civil Services Commission rule and regulations and collective bargaining agreements. The Human Resource Assist may perform a supporting role with clerical duties, as needed, entering applicant/resumes information in the Applicant Tracking System, scheduling oral and written assessments by updating the Applicant Tracking System, preparing assessment materials: applicant notices, assessment monitor reports, candidate ID sheets, etc., as needed.
- Monitoring written examinations: prepare exam room for testing: set-up computers and supplies, as needed
- Providing HR support to departments, as needed
- Scheduling Drug Test/ Physical Exams/Medical Reporting
- Generating New Employee Orientation List and attendance to NEO completing onboard documents
- Attending to Job Fairs and Career Services
- Delivering mail, pick-up and sort.
- Adding candidates to assessment eligibility list and forward result notices
- Performing background checks through ICHAT
- Filing/purging all requisitions and applications
- Processing requisitions/appointments for payroll processing
- Welcoming/greeting P/HR Customers/guests
- Ordering and maintaining office supplies
- Reporting and data analysis
- Generating/updating job list for office distribution
- Performing miscellaneous clerical functions
ELIGIBLE PERSONS
At the time of application, eligible persons must have:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Management or related field; OR
- A high school diploma AND four (4) years of full-time paid Human Resources experience, which must include entering transactions info into applicant tracking system, while adhering to department procedures, handing applicant inquiries, sending correspondence to applicants, meeting with newly hired employees, etc.
