Based in desirable Traverse City, MI, our Comprehensive Pain Management Clinic is located within Foster Family Community Health Center. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Performs comprehensive patient assessments in the ambulatory setting, including history and physical examinations, preparing patients for their planned surgery.
• Orders diagnostic tests, such as stress tests (exercise or pharmacologic), x-rays, ECGs, laboratory tests, and interprets test result.
• Develops and implements patient management plans, records electronic office notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care with collaboration and general supervision of the physicians and the anesthesia department.
• Prescribe pain medications including opiate and adjuvant analgesics, treatment regimens that are appropriate and relevant to the patients current painful medical conditions.
• Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for patients, including both pharmacological and non-pharmacological Pain Management options.
• Educate patients and their families about their Pain Management options.
• Home call including some weekends duties are expected.
• Monitor the effectiveness of treatment plans and adjust as necessary.

STANDARD QUALIFICATIONSEducation / Training:

• Master's Degree in Nursing OR a Masters in Physician Assistant studies

Work Experience:

• Experience with Spine and Nerve treatments preferred but not required.

Certification, Licensure, Registration:

• State of Michigan Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant license required
