Job description

Utz Quality Foods is currently seeking a Distributor Account Manager for the West to cover territory to include Arizona, California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, and Kansas. The Distributor Account Manager is responsible for managing distributor sales operations by promoting company sales initiatives, providing product knowledge, and fostering relationships between distributors and key accounts. Under the direction of the VP, Sales-West, the Distributor Account Manager works in collaboration with the Sales Management and Marketing teams to help implement and drive corporate sales strategies that benefit independent operators and/or company sales routes. The Distributor Manager may also be asked to help with Walmart and Target sales in other West markets.

Internal candidates with a minimum of 4 years of related sales experience, preferably in Direct Store Delivery (DSD) are encouraged to apply. Thorough communication, negotiation and goal setting skills and the ability to gather and analyze information are required for this role.

Distributor Account Manager:

  • Responsible for Distributor Account management, communications and reporting.
  • Work closely with distributor network in assigned area to foster relations, build trust and promote product understanding that will translate to increase sales and market share.
  • Work with distributors to manage charge accounts within each distributor market.
  • Maintain authorization list for distributors and work in internal systems, managing credits and spend.
  • Deliver Monthly, quarterly, and yearly projections for each group and yearly goal targets.
  • Responsible to add new distribution in assigned area and expansion of Utz Brands.
  • Provide trucking and product availability information to distributors.
  • Monitor, measure and evaluate store level programs to determine effectiveness. Relay and report out to appropriate sales group for review.
  • Monitor and report competitors' programs, pricing, new items, etc. in assigned accounts.
  • Make contact and develop relations with assigned account store/district management to further Utz account partnerships.
  • Pioneer and coordinate implementation of store/district promotional sales programs with a goal of increasing Utz sales and long-term profit in assigned accounts.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license and be willing and able to travel within the assigned territory.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of four years of related sales experience, preferably in Direct Store Delivery (DSD).

  • Ensure the development of store organizations to promote efficient operations.
  • Ability to gather and analyze information skillfully.
  • Ability to effectively implement and drive directives from company and management.
