Job description

The Human Resources Generalist will be primarily responsible for providing Best in Class service to MRS Employees and supporting the HR Leadership. This position will provide the in-house HR support for employees located at the MRS location in Dothan, AL, as well as remote support for our Headquarter office located in Cherry Hill, NJ. Primary functions of this position will include Employee relations, employee engagement, employee issues including incident reporting and investigations, HR compliance, working within the current HRIS (ADP Workforce Now and BambooHR), enforcing company policies, and supporting payroll, benefit, and employee leave functions/duties. This position may be assigned various projects and/or administrative functions as necessary.
This position will report to the Director of Human Resources and Payroll.
This is an office position Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Position

  • Primary Duties
    • Conducts and/or assists with the MRS new hire orientation for new employees.
    • Responsible for Employee Relations, including Employee Issues and Incident Reporting.
    • Attends and/or participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
    • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
    • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
    • Ensure personnel files are up to date and in compliance with all federal and state regulations and law.
    • File employee documentation, assist with digitizing current physical files.
    • Assist with certain payroll functions such as approving/denying PTO requests, requested time adjustments, reviewing accuracy of timesheets, and other administrative duties as needed.
    • General administrative support for the HR department including but not limited to - responding to HR tickets, documenting employee issues, updating benefit information, utilizing BambooHR or ADP to offer better Employee Self Service options.
    • Communicate changes from executive level
    • Assist in communication of upcoming events, contests, fundraisers, etc.
    • Daily communication with Training and Operations and Recruiting
    • directives from Corporate (IE: communications, meetings)

    • Apply skill and knowledge in following prescribed procedures regarding the Employment Laws and regulations in order to minimize our Company's exposure to risk.
    • Determine and maintain effective relationships by exercising a high degree of professionalism and excellent interpersonal/communication skills with the associates.
    • Provide the highest level of quality and trusted service to all employees.
    • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

  • Experience
    • 2+ years of Human Resource Generalist or related experience required.
    • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, preferred. Can be a combination of education and experience.
    • SHRM-CP a plus.

  • Physical Demands
