St. Luke's University Health Network (SLUHN) is a non-profit, regional, fully integrated, nationally recognized network providing services at 14 campuses and more than 300 sites in Lehigh, Northampton, Carbon, Schuylkill, Bucks, Montgomery, Berks, Monroe and Luzerne counties in Pennsylvania and Warren and Hunterdon counties in New Jersey.
The intent of this job description is to provide a summary of the major duties and responsibilities of this position and shall not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherent in the position.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The HR Communication Intern will work on creative and technical projects related to recruitment, internal and external communication plans, email strategies, and website content development.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Support the development and implementation of a Sharepoint site to manage HR related information and content
  • Serve on a committee to support Sharepoint site development and planning
  • Manage communication plans for multiple initiatives and programs Write email campaigns and marketing plans
  • Design, update and maintain recruitment flyers for multiple positions Collaborate with a Web support to generate custom QR codes and website content
  • Support broadcast email management
  • Design and distribute newsletters including writing, editing, formatting and design steps
  • Edit written materials and provide proof reading and feedback on communication projects
  • Complete information gathering and research steps to support communication plans
  • Partner with various departments to assist with communication needs
  • Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/ Entity as well as the proper release of information.
  • Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding issues of employee, patient and environmental safety and follows appropriate reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrates/models the Network's Service Excellence Standards of Performance in interactions with all customers (internal and external).
  • Demonstrates Performance Improvement in the following areas as appropriate: Clinical Care/Outcomes, Customer/Service Improvement, Operational System/Process, and Safety.
  • Demonstrates financial responsibility and accountability through the effective and efficient use of resources in daily procedures, processes and practices.
  • Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:
Other related duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
May require sitting/standing for up to 4hrs/day, walking up to 2 hrs/day, 20 minutes at a time. Requires frequent fingering, handling, firm grasping, twisting and turning. In a typical workday when performing essential functions, must be able to: stoop/bend; reach above shoulder level; squat; crouch; kneel; climb; lift heavy supplies and equipment; touch to perceive size, shape temperature and texture; hear high frequencies and day to day conversations, perceive objects near and far; and distinguish chromatic colors. In addition, should have good peripheral vision and depth perception.

POTENTIAL ON-THE-JOB RISKS: Minimal on the job risks during normal tasks.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must maintain client confidentiality at all times.
2. May not give medical advice or opinions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Open to students enrolled in a two or four year college or university or recent graduates. Preference for students pursuing degrees in communication, Human Resources, Marketing, or a related degree.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Creative skills needed with preference for Illustrator, Canva or similar software/platform experience. Strong writing and editing skills. Knowledge/experience with Sharepoint is valuable but not required. Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally.
WORK SCHEDULE: Day shift, Monday - Friday. Hybrid schedule available with in person and virtual work hours. 16-30 hours a week, flexible start date in spring semester or during summer.
