Internship Job Summary:
The PCRB Communications & Marketing internship will allow you to apply skills and knowledge you have learned in school, while contributing to company projects and playing a key role within the Communications and Marketing department. Our company will provide you hands-on experience to fit your career objectives, evolve and complement your academic studies, and help grow your knowledge base. The paid internship runs for approximately 7 weeks.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Content Creation: Assist in conceptualizing, scripting, and producing engaging video content that aligns with our brand and messaging;
- Create written content for various platforms, including blog posts, newsletters, and press releases;
- Collaborate with team members to develop compelling visual and written content for Communications and Marketing campaigns.
- Social Media Management: Manage and grow our social media presence across platforms such as LinkedIn and YouTube;
- Develop and implement a social media content calendar to ensure consistent and strategic posting;
- Monitor social media trends and engage with our audience to build a strong online community.
- Website Maintenance: Update and maintain content on our website, ensuring accuracy and relevance;
- Collaborate with the marketing team to optimize website content for SEO;
- Assist in the development of landing pages and other web assets as needed.
- Media List Management: Build and maintain a comprehensive media list, including journalists, influencers, and industry contacts;
- Regularly update media contacts and ensure accuracy in contact information;
- Assist in drafting and distributing press releases to relevant media outlets.
- Organizational Support: Assist in organizing and coordinating marketing events, webinars, and other promotional activities;
- Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless execution of marketing initiatives; Provide general support to the Communications and Marketing Manager as needed.
Requirements:
Education:
Current enrollment in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program (Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field);
Experience:
- No previous experience required, but candidates must express willingness and aptitude to learn new skills quickly and show earnest ability to work both independently and with instruction
Skills Required:
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint).
- Proficiency in video editing tools and graphic design software;
- Familiarity with social media platforms and best practices;
- Basic understanding of website content management systems (CMS);
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Work Hours:
Normal PCRB hybrid Flex time is available. Employee must be flexible when needed as projects or deadlines may sometimes necessitate extended hours.
