Overview
Human Resources Administrator supports Human Resources (HR) processes by administering tests, schedules appointments, conducts orientations. Collects time and attendance records, maintains records and information, and provides administrative support.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of routine tasks to facilitate all functional areas of a HR department
- Assist in recruitment and employment, employee and/or labor relations, benefits administration, organizational development, and training
- Coordinate with external vendors to process HR related payments
- Assist HR department in all administrative duties
- Administer all Driver Motor Vehicle related activities (pull background checks for drivers under the Influence, Department of Transportation, etc.)
- Data input and general correspondence, phones, benefits, record keeping, educational reimbursement program, and related administrative activity
- Maintain the HR database of employee information and implementing changes in personnel records and documentation
- Provide department phone support, routing, and assisting callers with various inquiries
- Assist HR Manager in generating reports for affirmative action plan updates and other Equal Employment Opportunity Commission related activity
- Assist HR Manager with special, intermittent projects (e.g., annual open enrollment period, employee events)
- Remain knowledgeable, ensure compliance with, and answer general inquiries with regard to company policies, procedures, and programs which govern employees, including but not limited to, employee handbook and drug and alcohol testing program
- Facilitate new hire employee orientations
- Assist in the coordination of company functions
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Additional Primary Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor s Degree and three years of experience or equivalent education and related experience
- Working knowledge of state and federal employment law
- Knowledge in accurate data entry, and research proficiency in PeopleSoft Human Resource Management System and benefit carrier portals
- Extensive knowledge of federal and state employment laws/regulations including Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments, Family Medical Leave Act, and Worker's Compensation
Physical Demands
- Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or adding machine
- Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
- May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
