Head of Business Development

Role Overview:

The Head of Business Development will play a pivotal role in finding new customers to utilize Sales Solutions’ B2B2C sales platform, leading the strategic identification of market segments and industry verticals. This key position requires a visionary leader capable of defining the value proposition for targeted sectors and spearheading Business Development initiatives to establish and nurture partnerships.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Mapping: Develop comprehensive industry maps and prioritize target segments, leveraging both current and anticipated resources.

Value Proposition: Create tailored value propositions for partner segments, highlighting the unique advantages and capabilities of Rapport.

Prospecting and Territory Management: Lead prospecting activities across the U.S. territory, refining and optimizing the territory approach to maximize opportunities.

Pipeline Management: Oversee the partnership deal pipeline, ensuring diligent tracking, progress monitoring, and outcome evaluation.

Commercial Discipline: Establish and maintain commercial discipline within the team, prioritizing account implementation efforts and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Proposal Development: Author and present compelling proposals, collaborating closely with business stakeholders to ensure alignment and approval.

Partnership Governance: Contribute to the development and refinement of partnership business governance structures and authority frameworks.

Collaboration: Work closely with internal peers and teams to prioritize efforts, align strategies, and foster client development.

Knowledge and Experience:

Business Development Expertise: Extensive experience in partnership deal Business Development, preferably within the insurance sector.

Consumer Insurance Acumen: Deep understanding of consumer insurance dynamics, encompassing P&L management, underwriting considerations, distribution strategies, and innovative Ai applications.

Distribution: Proven experience in the distribution of consumer insurance through digital channels, understanding the nuances and opportunities of the digital landscape.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • MBA preferred.
  • 10 + years of demonstrable B2B Sales experience.
  • 10+ years of primary insurance (P&C or L&H), including know-how across the value chain, or in various industry distribution channels, specifically independent life insurance broker.
  • Ability to manage multi-tasking with 3 company outlets.
  • Manage the relationships between external partners, internal business entities and the AccuQuote Teams.
  • Build bridges with Swiss Re Client Managers.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance regulations, policies, and industry best practices preferred.
  • Clear and effective communication with senior business leaders, C Suite, and project teams.
  • Strong emotional intelligence to deal with sensitivity of information & seniority of audience.
  • Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and energetic and detail oriented.
  • Ensure strong relationships are built and maintained for future partnerships.
  • Possesses critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and OneNote.
  • Ability to be a top salesperson and analyze the data.
