We’re seeking a Head of Business Development to join our Data & Analytics team.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- Lead a global Business Development team, servicing the Data & Analytics segment.
- Sets the strategy for Business Development in Data & Analytics and develops tactics to execute on that strategy in support of the business goals.
- Identifies the markets and areas for future growth and development and ensure staff are deployed accordingly.
- Owns the Business Development pipeline and campaign management for Data & Analytics
- Sets the standards for dealing with unprecedented, complex or intricate issues regarding prospect needs, deal structure, negotiations, priorities, compliance, regulations, etc.
- Reviews and approves deal structure ensuring optimal terms for both the client and the firm and mitigating risk where necessary.
- Partners with product management providing a feedback channel from sales pipeline to our product roadmap efforts.
- Partners with other Business Development leaders across the firm.
- Develops the key metrics and sales analyses that will gauge the success of the Business Development activities.
- Tracks and reports on Business Development results for the function.
- Serve in a consultative role to the client, advising client top leadership on the best way to achieve short- and long- term strategic objectives. Ensures client onboarding and/or risk management activities are conducted and captured (KYC, BAC, etc.) Serves as the interface for compliance, regulatory, reputational matters between clients and the Bank.

- Demonstrate excellent judgement and a fact-based approach to evaluation and decision making
- Strong communication and presentation skills (both verbally and in writing); able to articulate complex information in a clear and simple manner to a variety of audiences
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills Consummate professional; able to navigate a matrixed organization
Qualifications:
- Minimum of fifteen (15) years in Sales/Relationship Management, Client Service, or Account Management in Financial Services/Technology/FinTech
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred Possess established relationships within/across industry and with clients at c-suite level
BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $136,500 and $400,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
