Position Title Full Time Faculty, Computer Science (10 month) FLSA Exempt FT/PT Full Time Hours Per Week 37.5 Work Schedule M-F 8:30-5 Grade F2 Minimum Compensation $61,100 General Responsibilities The successful candidate will take teaching assignments to deliver lectures and labs in Computer Science including teaching the C++, Java and/or Python programming languages. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to develop and deliver additional course materials at the associate degree level as needed to keep pace with the fast-growing nature of technology.
The candidate will also work with an interdisciplinary team of faculty teaching Cybersecurity, Cloud Operations and Security, Computer Science, Cisco, Computer Forensics and Application Development, supporting the success and growth of the Cyber Technology courses and programs. Other responsibilities of the candidate include, but are not limited to designing, developing and accessing course content in curriculum areas. In addition, serving on departmental and college committees and taking a role as an academic advisor and mentor are part of the position responsibilities.
Work Performed Each faculty member is expected to teach 14 - 16 units per semester. Over the course of two consecutive years, a faculty member is expected to average 30 units per year.

- Teaching Computer Science courses, including hands-on work in creating real-world programs.
- Development and delivery of course materials on the College Learning Management System (LMS)
- Participation in departmental and college committees
- Working with HCC's partners or institutions in the Computer Science area
- Serving as an academic advisor and mentor
- Discipline coordination including hiring and support of adjunct faculty in their teaching and development, management of course scheduling and curriculum.

Required
- Bachelor's degree
- One year of work experience in Computer Science or a related field
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team to achieve project goals.
- Willingness to complete additional training or certifications is required.
- Knowledge of C++, Java and/or Python, other programming languages would be considered with additional work/teaching experience.
Preferred
- Master's degree
- Experience in college-level teaching in Computer Science, or a related field
Campus participation and support of the campus community is expected.
