Summary of Purpose
Oakland Community College is seeking an instructor for the Certified Nurse Aide/Patient Care Technician Training Program. The instructor will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of students in the didactic, clinical, and skills lab arenas. The instructor will provide quality education for students and perform instructional-related duties and responsibilities in accordance with the philosophy, mission, policies and procedures of the program and college. This position works in a fast paced, multi-cultural, diverse working environment.
Rate: $56.66 per hour (Bachelors)/$62.69 per hour (Masters)

Minimum Education and Experience
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree, or higher, in Nursing from an accredited college or university is required.

Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.

Train-The-Trainer (TTT) Certification (highly preferred) -OR- At least one year of instructional experience in a health care setting.

- Collaborates in the development of new curriculum, instructional materials, and evaluation tools; reviews and updates course outlines, textbooks, and syllabus for courses.
- Teaches courses and maintains written instructional standards; facilitates instruction using alternative delivery methods as needed; participates in the assessment of student learning outcomes.
- Applies and maintains standards of quality operating methods, processes, systems, and procedures; implements changes and integrates knowledge of professional training to continuously improve program quality.
- Maintains records in compliance with Michigan State Board of Nursing regulations and statutes governing education.
- Works collaboratively with students, colleagues, and staff members to integrate instructional activities and materials.
- Performs other related duties, as assigned.
- Ability to work additional hours, as needed.
Knowledge and Skills Required
- Academic preparation and experience in the delivery of innovative, evidence-based instruction in CNA education and other health professions at the community college or university level or equivalent.
- Ability to engage collaboratively and professionally with colleagues and students to ensure the successful achievement of student learning outcomes.
- Experience in actively engaging students to think critically while participating in the learning process.
- Demonstrates leadership in academic and clinical settings.
- Ability to work as a team player in a multi-cultural, diverse working environment.
