High school diploma required. Ability to use a computer for data entry and management. Experience: two years' experience in payroll and/or bookkeeping preferred.* Ability to operate standard office equipment and to use office-based software applications. Experience in the use of B+ (or related financial) software preferred. Ability to communicate, effectively, in person and on the telephone with other employees and the public.
* Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
Performance Responsibilities:
* Receives and verifies accuracy of submitted payroll (time) sheets
* Prepares maintenance changes to employees' deductions.
* Inputs the maintenance on the computer and checks it for errors and makes corrections.
* Uploads time-sheet file for each payroll.
* Checks totals of input and the payroll edit for errors and makes corrections.
* Calculates retroactive pay on each employee.
* Sorts and distributes district payroll checks.
* Maintains effective filing system.
* Answers inquiries pertaining to payrolls.
* Mails outgoing payroll materials in a timely manner.
* Audits, annually, pay, additional hours, insurance, and leaves.
* Maintains effective working relationships with other employees.
* Performs other job-related functions as may be assigned
