instruction to enable each student to meet the demands of the Maryland College and Career
Readiness Standards.
DUTIES:
- Introduce basic computer keyboard and Internet skills.
- Provide classes in software programming, hardware, web design and programming, data processing or more advance office programs.
- Assign projects so that students learn to deal with real-world constraints, such as time and materials.
- Encourage students to unravel technological problems using a hands-on, trial-and-error approach.
- Encourage creative thinking with challenging classroom projects.
- Aid students to connect math, science and technological principles to everyday life.
- Present class instruction or individualized exercises using a teacher presentation system linked to computer workstations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possess a Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
- Possess, or be eligible for, a Maryland State Department of Education teaching certificate with an endorsement in Computer Science 7-12.
- Knowledge of Dorchester County Public Schools curriculum, techniques for integrating curriculum, Dorchester County Public Schools policies, and effective instructional practices.
- Ability to provide instruction that reflects multiple perspectives and multi-cultural education.
- Ability to infuse technology into curriculum.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with administrators, colleagues, central office and school-based staff, students, parents and community; and
- Excellent oral and written communication and human relation skills.
