We are seeking a friendly and organized person to join our team. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring efficient operation of the front desk. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, possesses excellent communication skills, and has the ability to multitask.
Responsibilities:
o Greet patients warmly and assist them with check in procedures upon arrival.
o Answer phone calls promptly and professionally, addressing inquiries, scheduling appointments, and taking messages as needed.
o Schedule patient appointments accurately using the electronic scheduling system.
o Collect co-payments and payments for services rendered, providing receipts and reconciling daily transactions.
o Perform light coding tasks, ensuring accurate coding and billing procedures are followed.
o Manage patient charts by organizing, filing, and updating information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
o Collect patient information, including insurance details, medical history, and contact information, and input data into the electronic system.
o Coordinate with medical staff and assist with administrative tasks as needed to ensure smooth clinic operations.
o Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area, including restocking supplies and keeping the area neat and presentable.
o Uphold patient confidentiality and privacy by following established protocols and procedures.
Qualifications:
o High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in medical office administration is a plus.
o Prior experience working as a receptionist or in a customer service role, preferably in a healthcare setting preferred, but not necessary.
o Familiarity with medical terminology, procedures, and insurance processes a plus.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with patients and colleagues.
o Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
o Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in busy situations.
o Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
o Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures in the podiatry field.
