Job Description:
We are seeking an excellent, friendly, professional, compassionate and organized medical front office specialist to join our busy, growing health care team. In this role, you will work at the front desk of our medical office and provide assistance to our patients and other visitors. You will be responsible for receptionist duties, corresponding with patients, maintaining the organization of our office, and ensuring that our environment is welcoming, calm, and comforting for our patients and their families.
Medical Receptionist Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet patients, vendors, pharmaceutical representatives, and other visitors to our medical office.
- Answer patient questions and provide assistance and directions when necessary.
- Field phone calls and respond to email
- Utilize our medical office software, "EZDerm" to schedule new and follow-up appointments for our patients.
- Register new patients and update necessary records.
- Distribute iPad to patients, assist patient as needed, and then check them over to ensure that required fields are completed appropriately.
- Process bills, invoices, and patient payments in office.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient records.
- Ensure that the waiting room environment remains neat, calm, and welcoming.
- Uphold the positive reputation of our medical office by always treating visitors in a friendly, welcoming, and compassionate manner.
- Interest to take on more responsibilities with patients over time per above including rooming patients and gathering intake information about their visit in our Electronic Medical Record.
Medical Receptionist Requirements and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of experience working as a receptionist or in a relevant role preferred
- Must thrive in a fast-paced, busy work environment
- Friendly and compassionate disposition
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Dedication to maintaining confidentiality of all patient records
- Office Hours: Monday - Thursdays 730-5pm; Fridays 730-3pm
- Salary commensurate with experience.
