Dermatology office hiring an experienced Full time Front Desk Medical Receptionist. Seeking a friendly, reliable, energetic individual to join our team to work in a busy, multiple provider, outpatient clinic in San Carlos, California.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in coordinating patient flow
- Answer phone calls, take messages, and redirect calls as necessary
- Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations using ModMed/EMA Practice Management System.
- Greet patients, collect and update their personal and medical information in the EMR system, verify insurance details, and assist with filling out necessary forms.
- Maintain and update patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Scan and upload documents in the EMR system, Organize and file paperwork, including medical charts, test results, and correspondence.
- Serve as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and other staff members.
- Respond to emails, and handle inquiries professionally and courteously.
- Perform general administrative tasks such as typing, data entry, filing, and maintaining office organization to support the healthcare team.
- Offer support and guidance to patients, providing them with information regarding services, procedures, and resources available.
- Knowledgeable of providers in the office and treatments they provide
- Knowledgeable of skin care products available at the office
- Collects co-pays and/or patient balance(s), including product sales and cosmetic procedures, providing patient receipts and entering it into the EMR system, and maintaining/balancing daily cash log
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Medical Front Office Coordinator, at least (2) years
- ModMed/EMA Practice Management/EMR System is a plus
- Computer Savvy, must be very comfortable working with a computerized scheduling/EMR system.
- Comfortable with speaking to patients on the phone
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with physicians, staff and patients
- Must be very comfortable providing pricing to patients and collecting and posting payments
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks
- Excellent written and verbal communication Skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced team oriented environment
- Knowledge of medical insurance plans and CPT/ICD 10 coding
- Knowledge of the insurance billing process
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Willing to train the right candidate
