TITLE: Finance Specialist
REPORTS TO: Director of Finance
CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time Non-Exempt
GENERAL DESCRIPTION & QUALIFICATIONS: TheFinance Specialist is responsible for assisting with various duties in Finance. An Associate’s Degree or equivalent work experience in accounting and Microsoft Office is required. Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, and computer skills. Person must have the ability to work in a highly confidential, multi-task environment. Must have the ability to work with diverse populations. Must have reliable transportation, insurance, a valid Michigan Driver’s License and a good driving record. Must pass a criminal background check as a condition of employment.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Implement agency and program mission and empowerment philosophy.
2. Administer and implement agency policies and procedures.
3. Maintain agency policy on confidentiality, record keeping and professional ethics.
4. Process bank deposits.
5. Process billings.
6. Provide back up for other accounting functions and assist in preparation of fiscal audits.
7. Supports the work of Director of Finance and provides back up when necessary.
8. Participate in applicable staff, committee meetings, and other meetings deemed necessary by Turning Point.
9. Conduct relationships with colleagues to promote mutual respect, improvement of services, and interdepartmental program development.
10. Notify the Director of Finance or Chief Executive Officer of any emergency situations that may affect Turning Point staff and clients.
11. Perform all other duties as assigned by Finance Director.
