Summary:

• Under the direction of the Environmental Manager, the Environmental Specialist conducts required environmental tests, analysis, and observations.
• Evaluates results and makes recommendations as necessary for maintaining compliance with regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities:

• Support Environmental Manager to ensure compliance and maintain regulatory records for SPCC, SWPPP, Title V, PCMACT and other environmental regulatory requirements.
• Interface independently with environmental inspectors and key plant management, as required by Environmental Manager.
• Requires ability to handle follow up actions from compliance inspections.
• Ability to independently recognize, analyze, and create reports by applying mathematical and physical science principles, concepts, and techniques.
• Ability to independently conduct inspections and implement compliance programs at multiple locations.
• Must comply with company safety rules and regulations.
• Wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related industry.
• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in related field.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities.
• 2-4 years of experience in the field; 5 years preferred.

Working Conditions:

• Normal office environment.
• Plant Environment.
• Some travel required.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent sitting, standing, and walking.
• Ability to lift and carry 20 lbs.
• Ability to climb stairs.
