Job Summary
The Distribution Team Lead position leads the team of Distribution Coordinators in all warehouse functions at the Duncan Distribution Center to meet the order fulfillment needs of the pharma business. The Distribution Team Lead serves as the direct assistant to the warehouse Supervisors.
This includes, but is not limited to, monitoring customer order pick, pack, and ship activities, work flow, inventory issues, visitor/driver control, and daily assignments of the warehouse Distribution Coordinators. This position reports to designated supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Appropriately allocate manpower resources to ensure the proper and timely execution of both scheduled and unscheduled customer orders on a daily basis.
- Lead the daily production to pick and pack customer orders.
- Oversees shipping activities to ensure that all orders packed are shipped.
- Assign crewing as needed to accomplish the task of picking and shipping clean all orders daily.
- Ensure that all truck orders shipped are post goods issued in SAP.
- Helps to identify possible improvements in physical or system processes.
- Coordinate special projects on assigned shift.
- Communicate directives and initiatives from management to warehouse crew.
- Monitor and improve workflow, to include process change development and implementation, as w Monitor and observe all warehouse functions using the approved and supplied observation forms, making behavioral corrections as necessary.
- Actively participate in the evaluation of staff in the performance of all work-related activities; participate in the review process for all Distribution Coordinators.
- Able to function as a project leader for special warehouse initiatives.
- Serve as point-of-contact for after-hours alarm system reporting. Able to open and close facility, including setting and disarming alarm system.
- Achieve and maintain Fresenius Kabi USA, LLC, Qualified Trainer status; serve as the distribution center’s active powered industrial equipment trainer.
- Able to generate, print, and maintain adequate control of warehouse transfer order documents.
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3 - 5 years’ experience in a warehouse leadership role with working knowledge of all functional areas of the warehouse or equivalent experience is preferred.
- SAP (or equivalent systems) knowledge and RF Scanning is preferred; ability to learn these systems quickly is required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products with spreadsheet applications (Excel) skills is a plus.
- Solid mathematical and reading skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and lead a team.
- Effective problem-solving skills including demonstrated use of sound judgment, good organizational skills, time-management skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-orientated environment.
- Capable of learning and being proficient on Powered Industrial Truck (PIT), including, but not limited to, walkie-riders, cherry pickers, deep reaches, and sit-down forklifts.
