Description
BASIC JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for leading a group of employees to accomplish the department's goals and objectives. Assist Manager and Supervisor with a variety of tasks related to the warehouse, including employee training, safety, productivity, efficiency, etc. This includes organizing the workload for the area, assigning each employee's task for the shift, and ensuring the area's standards for safety, productivity, and quality are being met on a daily basis.
Requirements
MAIN JOB DUTIES:
- Provides leadership for the effective execution of the duties and responsibilities attached to the Logistics team.
- Lead initiatives to meet company objectives for all Logistics functions.
- Understand all safety polices, model exemplary safety behavior and aide in enforcing safety policies to employees.
- Understand and operate Movex in relation to receiving, shipping, inventory, etc.
- Lead as an example to direct reports. This includes being responsible for helping to cultivate a positive work environment and overall employee morale.
- Must meet and maintain company requirements in lean manufacturing and housekeeping practices.
- Must follow the companies directive in Quality Management System (QMS)
- Must follow the ISO 9001 work practices & procedures.
- Serve as back-up to the Supervisor to open and close the facility.
- Operate an industrial fork truck to pick up, move place, and position materials.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor and manager.
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or equivalency (GED)
- Previous leadership experience in industrial environment prefered
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- This position requires excellent judgment skills in regards to carrying out procedures and following established manufacturing/logistics methods.
- Must have computer proficiency, have MRP system experience with the ability to learn Movex and Microsoft programs.
- Must be able to effectively communicate work instructions to all team members to meet safety, efficiency and quality production goals.
- Must have excellent leadership and delegation skills, as well as excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Must have previous materials handling experience in a manufacturing/logistics environment.
- Must make decisions with regard to quality of product.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Primarily works in non-climate controlled warehouse, outdoors, and occasionally in climate controlled office.
Flexibility to work overtime, including weekends
