Department Description
The Compliance Department is responsible for the development and implementation of the Firm's obligations as it relates to Rule 206(4)-7 of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, which requires that registered investment advisers formalize policies and procedures to address their fiduciary and regulatory obligations under the Advisers Act. The compliance policies and procedures should be reasonably designed to prevent violations from occurring, detect violations that have occurred, and promptly correct any violations that have occurred. The Compliance Department works closely with both business and infrastructure personnel to ensure appropriate controls and oversight are implemented. The HPS Compliance function, oversight, and guidance is driven primarily out of the New York office and is currently supported locally by two HPSUK Compliance Officers dedicated to the Firm's European business and one HPSHK Compliance Officer dedicated to the Firm's Asia and Australia businesses, in accordance with jurisdictional regulatory requirements.
Position Description HPS is seeking an Analyst to join the Compliance team in the New York office. This is a generalist compliance position that will support all aspects of the Firm's businesses. The candidate must have very strong communication skills and be able to communicate effectively. The candidate must be comfortable working on multiple projects with varying degrees of complexity, duration, and teams concurrently. The candidate must be a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
- Be knowledgeable about material, non-public information and restricted list implications
- Become knowledgeable with respect to a complex set of business strategies, funds, and fund guidelines
- Able to interface directly with Investment Professionals in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledgeable about AML/KYC
- Able to conduct routine, targeted, and ad hoc testing / surveillance
- Monitor adherence to the Firm's Code of Ethics (personal trading, gifts and entertainment, political contributions, etc.).
- Provide support to members of compliance group as required
- Other duties as assigned
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's Degree
- Demonstrated record of academic achievement, a university graduate, corporate experience a plus
- 4 - 6 years of work experience in the financial services industry

Rate of Pay:
- The base salary range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 but may vary based on various factors including job function, experience and geographic location. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus.
