Analyst, Portfolio Strategy & Compliance

The Analyst on the Portfolio Strategy & Compliance team conducts contract analyses and supports the management of commitments to ensure that Convergent's assets are developed and operated in compliance with all regulatory and contractual obligations. Additionally, the Analyst evaluates operational and financial data with the goal of optimizing asset performance and maximizing profit.
What You'll Do

• Support contractual, financial, and operational analyses of Convergent's solar and storage assets.
• Develop and maintain sophisticated models to support and forecast asset-level P&L performance.
• Assist team leadership in implementing and improving our assets' comprehensive regulatory and contractual compliance and reporting requirements.
• Support developing and implementing risk management strategies to mitigate market-related risks while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Engage with finance, procurement, engineering, and construction teams to ensure contractual and operational feasibility during the contracting and development phases.
• Develop subject matter expertise in one or more energy markets where Convergent operates.

• Conduct in-depth research and analysis of energy market dynamics, including supply and demand trends, pricing fluctuations, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape.
• Prepare and present reports, presentations, and recommendations to senior management, highlighting key insights and actionable opportunities.
• Perform ad hoc projects and initiatives as needed to drive continuous organizational improvement and innovation as Convergent and the Portfolio Strategy & Compliance team evolve.

Requirements
Required Qualifications

• Zero to three years of experience in energy project development and management, energy markets analysis, energy trading, investment banking, consulting, or related fields.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with experience in statistical analysis, financial modeling, and data visualization techniques.
• High level of proficiency in building models and conducting analyses in Microsoft Excel.
• Good understanding of energy markets, including power and renewables, regulatory frameworks, and market mechanisms.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex concepts into clear and actionable insights.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering, mathematics, or related field.
• Social agility and comfort with frequent interactions with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience with the analysis of legal contracts.
• Experience in programming languages like Python, R, or MATLAB and working with large datasets and statistical software.

Base Salary Range: $80,000- $100,000; Salary Commensurate with Qualifications and Experience.
