As we continue to expand our reach and influence, we are seeking a Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to lead our marketing team and initiatives and help us achieve our strategic and funding goals.
Position Summary:
The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) will be a key member of our executive team, responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive marketing strategy that drives funding volume and enhances our brand visibility/reputation, fuels growth and further establishes our company as the leading finance Company serving the Cannabis industry. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in all facets and mediums of marketing, possess strong leadership and mentoring skills, exhibit exceptional communication capabilities and be driven by data and most importantly, results.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement a cohesive marketing plan to increase lead flow, funded volume, brand awareness and market share using all methods of marketing and promotion.
· Oversee the marketing department's operations, including team leadership, budget management and strategy execution.
· Lead and mentor the marketing team to foster a collaborative and high-performing environment.
· Utilize data-driven approaches to measure, analyze and communicate marketing performance, adjusting as necessary to drive results.
· Collaborate with all departments to align marketing strategies with overall company objectives.
· Support both Inside Sales Team and Strategic Partner efforts driving consistent and predictable qualified lead flow.
· Identify and capitalize on emerging news, data and market trends, demonstrating and communicating opportunities within the Cannabis and ancillary industries.
· Manage and enhance the company's offline and online presence.
· Offline efforts include, but are not limited to:
o Direct mail
o Conference strategy and execution, working with sales/business development teams.
· Online efforts include, but are not limited to:
o Digital presence, including website, social media, and online campaigns.
o Email campaigns, inclusive of the strategy formation and performance of drip campaigns and journeys, will be vital to success.
· Manage vendors, marketing relationships, including paid placements and sponsorships, measuring efficacy and recommending efficient and effective adjustments.
· Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, media and any external agencies.
· Provide insightful reports and presentations to the CEO and department heads on marketing plans, performance, strategic initiatives and results.
· Work with CEO and Finance team regarding budget and monthly/quarterly plans.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
· Minimum of 10 years of marketing experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or C-level role.
· Experience working in a start-up environment.
· Proven experience in developing and executing successful marketing strategies in the financial technology sector or related industries.
· General understanding of the Cannabis industry and its regulatory environment is highly advantageous.
· Exceptional leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
· Proficient in using marketing analytics tools, such as Tableau, and a highly developed data analysis skillset to drive decision-making.
· Experience with Salesforce.com very strongly encouraged.
· Innovative thinker with a results-driven approach and a strong ability to manage multiple priorities.
· Self-starter that can roll up sleeves, dig in and make a tangible impact.
· Accustomed to working with fast paced CEO and team that works hard and achieves.
· Strength with data, math/numbers, but not accounting, required.
