Job Title: Business Systems Analyst
Location: Newark, NJ (Onsite 1 day per week)
Type: Contract to Hire
 
Overview:
Our client in Newark, NJ is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to join their team. This is a Right to Hire position for a BSA  with a focus on both BSA and Scrum Master responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing, coordinating meetings, and basic project management activities, while also possessing the ability to align and understand requirements for various initiatives. This role involves collaborating with both IT and business stakeholders, as well as managing projects, albeit on a smaller scale.
 
Responsibilities:

• Gather and document project scopes, reviewing and documenting them comprehensively.
• Facilitate and coordinate meetings with various stakeholders and business partners.
• Create and review business requirements and user stories in collaboration with business and development teams.
• Serve as a liaison between the business and development teams, ensuring effective communication and understanding.
• Generate ClearQuest work requests for various projects and manage updates for those work requests.
• Attend meetings related to multiple ongoing projects.
• Assess the impact on various systems based on project scopes.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to create and provide estimates.
• Possess a solid understanding of current technologies and work with development teams to create technical user stories.
• Participate in scrum calls, grooming sessions, product refinements, and scrum ceremonies.
• Maintain JIRA/Confluence updates to track project progress and documentation.
• Communicate project status to EPMO project managers.
• Gather and provide status updates on System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) defects.
• Collect details related to production issue resolution, root cause analysis, and work with development/impacted teams.
• Participate in production incident ticket meetings.
• Bring experience working on Agile/Scrum projects.
• A Certified Scrum Master certification is a significant plus.

 
Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) in a complex environment.
• Strong project management and coordination skills.
• Familiarity with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies; preference for candidates with Agile experience.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with technologies such as Java, Spring-Boot, Postgres, SQL Server, etc. (technical expertise is not required).
• Healthcare industry understanding is a plus, but the ability to learn quickly is equally important.

 
Note:

• This position is based in Newark, NJ, and requires onsite presence one day per week. The role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a strong focus on Agile methodologies and project management, making it an excellent fit for an experienced BSA looking to take on a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business and technology. A Certified Scrum Master certification would be a significant advantage for potential candidates.
