The electrification or cars, trucks and busses is one of the most extensive and disruptive industry transformations ever. Northvolt leads this change and aims to become the leading battery partner for the European automotive industry and set new benchmarks for sustainability and CO2 footprint.
As Business Development Manager you get the opportunity to drive this transformation at leading automotive companies, suppliers and start-ups in North America. You are responsible to generate business opportunities, drive customer dialogues and closing deals with different kind of customers within the automotive segment.
We believe you have a solid background in both business development or project management in the automotive industry, maybe at a Tier 1 supplier or an OEM. You are skilled at selling complex technical solutions and have a track record of successfully managing both engineering projects and business relationships.
You bring technical interest and understanding as well as business talent. As a person you are structured, love to execute plans and meet ambitious targets.
You will be part of the Automotive team and work closely with both our Project, Operations and R&D teams to sell and deliver superior products and solutions to our customers. The role reports to our Director of Sales and Business Development, in our Automotive & Founder team
To be successful within this position, you have to spend around 50% with customers in North America and 50 % in Sweden (since the majority of the supporting resources within project, operations and R&D are based in Sweden).

Requirements
- MSc engineering.
- 5-10 years of experience from complex sales and/or project management, preferably from the Automotive industry.
- Strong communication skills and being able to address everyone from working level specialists to C-level executives.
- Knowledge of battery industry is desirable.
- Start-up and growth company experience is a major advantage.
- Ability to travel 100 days a year (mainly within NA as well as to Sweden, depending on where the person will be based).
