About the Role
The Business Development role is a crucial function within the Radar Product Management team working directly with regional customers as well as Magna engineering.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop and cultivate relationships with key regional OEMs
- Promote Magna’s roadmap to OEMs and listen to feedback
- Analyze and understand OEMs roadmaps and advise internal roadmap stakeholders
- Identify opportunities for collaborative development projects
- Identify key stakeholder networks at OEMs and their influence in Business Development
- Assist in proposal activities
- Engage with engineering, purchasing, sales teams to ensure customer inquiries (RFI, RFQ, etc.) are being properly assessed
- Competitive Market Analysis
- Attend conferences, monitor competitors, collect information through trade publications
- Analyze, distill and provide information acquired to technology roadmap stakeholders
- Analyze market data for product fitment and propose focus areas for Business Development
- Technology Scouting
- Attend conferences, monitor competitors, collect information through trade publications
- Identify, analyze and vet potential technology partners
- Monitor Regulatory and Spectrum allocation activities
- Analyze information and report findings to Radar Product line as well as the broader Active Safety community within Magna
- Lead Competitive Analysis
- Assist with product teardowns, monitor FCC and other submissions, develop most-probable competitor near term roadmaps
Who we are looking for
- Bachelor degree in Systems, Electrical, Software or Mechanical Engineering (or similar discipline)
- 10+ years experience in the field of radar automotive products
- 5+ years of experience in Business Development, technical lead or project management with direct customer interaction
- Independent drive to interact across multiple organizational levels internally and externally
- Management skills to direct and orchestrate medium sized pursuit team efforts
Your preferred qualifications
- Strong communication skills; experience writing and presenting technical information to customer and leadership audiences
- Possess strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with people throughout organizational hierarchy
- Able to work with little direction and handle multiple tasks
- Ability to travel when necessary, including international travel, to meet with global counterparts, customer or supplier locations or to engineering competence centers as necessary
