Bookkeeper

MIT Engineering and Construction Inc. is seeking an experienced, skilled and detail-oriented full service Bookkeeper to join our team. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and performing various accounting tasks. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of accounting principles and is proficient in QuickBooks.

_ Responsibilities:_

- Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data

- Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable

- Prepare and maintain financial statements

- Preparation of journal entries and month-end closing procedures

- Conduct regular balance sheet reconciliations to identify discrepancies or errors

- Assist with tax preparation and filing activities

- Assistance with project related fund control and preliminary documents

_ Skills:_

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills:

- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements

- Proficient in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable

- Knowledge of technical accounting principles and practices

- Experience with journal entries and month-end closing procedures

- High attention to detail and able to prioritize

- Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

-Experience with project related accounting, fund control, and preliminary documents is preferred but not required

- Strong working knowledge of Quickbooks and Microsoft Excel

- Able to work independently and as part of a team

- At least 2+ years of experience as a full service Bookkeeper
