Responsibilities:
Accounts Management:
- Handle both accounts payable and receivable duties, processing invoices, reconciling vendor statements, and issuing payments for company expenses and property-related costs.
- Prepare and distribute monthly rent statements, record rent payments, and diligently follow up on any overdue payments.
Financial Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records in our property management software, ensuring meticulous data entry and consistent ledger management across multiple properties.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit transactions, identifying discrepancies and ensuring precision in financial records.
Financial Reporting and Compliance:
- Collaborate in preparing monthly financial statements and reports, supporting annual budget creation, and conducting financial analysis to optimize revenue and minimize costs.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, laws, and regulations, preparing and submitting necessary financial reports to regulatory agencies and property owners.
Documentation and Organization:
- Manage comprehensive documentation, including contracts, leases, invoices, and receipts, ensuring a systematic and accessible filing system for easy retrieval of financial records.
Qualifications:
Experience and Education:
- Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably within a business-services or property management environment.
- Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Relevant education or certification in accounting or bookkeeping is preferred, along with an associate degree in accounting or business administration.
Software Proficiency:
- Proficiency in using accounting software like QuickBooks and property management software such as AppFolio or Yardi.
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate effectively with internal teams, property owners, and vendors.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial recordkeeping.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
Regulatory Awareness:
- Familiarity with applicable local, state, and federal regulations related to property management finances would be advantageous.
