Position Summary
Marilyn O. Marshall, Office of the Chapter 13 Trustee is seeking an accounting specialist responsible for the maintenance of financial records concerning the operations of the Chapter 13 Trustee. This position works with the Controller and the Trustee to ensure all information is accurate and conforms to the rules and regulations set forth by the US Trustee. Responsible for compiling data used to maintain the financial records of the office of the Chapter 13 Trustee. Must pass a criminal and credit background check.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree required. Experience working in accounting and Quickbooks is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for all operations accounts and accounts payable.
- Prepare vouchers from incoming invoices, obtain approval signatures, prepare checks, maintain and generate required reports, and maintain records to forward to CPA.
- Ensure accuracy of all accounts payable invoices prior to remitting funds.
- Review and approve reverse positive-pay correspondence from financial institutions regarding expense account transactions.
- Maintain inventory of current supplies and order as needed.
- Maintain fixed asset inventory by keeping data and reports updated and assets tagged.

Other Duties
- Coordinate travel for Trustee and staff.
- Assist with all audits of the Trustee’s office.
- Assist IT Analyst with system backups and restoration.
- Miscellaneous clerical duties.
- Assist Trustee with budget preparation.
· Other duties as assigned.

Auditors, Controller, bank personnel, miscellaneous vendors regarding accounts payable, Chapter 13 staff
Physical and Mental Demands
- Knowledge of accounting procedures and techniques, basic business organization and commercial practices.
- Ability to read and interpret complex materials and compute fairly complex mathematical and/or statistical problems.
- Process multiple tasks and solve varied problems that require general knowledge of Trustee office and bankruptcy policies and procedures.
- Accuracy and strict attention to details and procedures.
- Strong organizational skills to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
· PC Skills.
· Good written and verbal communication skills.
· Work is sedentary, with no unusual physical demands.
