Qmhp - Qualified Mental Health Professional

Person Centered Support Services is seeking passionate and client centered Mental Health Professionals with social work, case management, Mental Health, counseling, and therapy experience. Must be a certified Mental Health Professional (QMHP certified or eligible for training) upon hire. Clinicians who are organized, positive and able work independently one on one with the client. Trauma informed care and person first orientations are required in this role, as is someone who demonstrates positive regard while supporting individual dignity and autonomy.

The Mental Health Clinician is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring services to individuals based on their individual goals and medical necessity. The focus of this position includes safe stabilization in the community, ensuring consumers have access to services that support their overall wellness, advocating that individual rights and dignities be upheld, empowering individuals to achieve their individual goals, and ensuring folks are able to move towards increased independence.

Ideal applicant will have strong assessment and organizational skills to allow he or she to work independently to determine and support the goals of their assigned clients. Applicant must also demonstrate unconditional positive regard and respect towards their client while administering a high level knowledge of Mental Health Skill Building with clients of whom have been diagnosed with mental illness, who are/have been medicated for mental illness and previously hospitalized for a mental illness.

Client work is one on one/face to face, transporting and via telephone as per agreed and predetermined times and location between yourself and the client.

Education/Certificates/Licenses/Registration:

Qualified Mental Health Professional certification with a Masters Degree in social work or related field is required.

Experience/Qualifications:

• One year experience working in community Mental Health providing case management and/or behavior health treatment, particularly with individuals in need of Mental Health Skill Building.
• Must be QMHP certified / eligible for certification / eligible for In Training
• Able to work with clients from various backgrounds
• Must have transportation
• Must provide drivers license, driving record and proof of auto insurance
• Must complete fingerprint/background check
• 1099 Contract position

$21 - $25 hr based on experience w/ 6 month evaluation; with paid weekly supervision (typically 1 hour)

VA Beach/Chesapeake/Tidewater area
