Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the church and managing accounting processes for ministries.
- Prepare and process journal entries, including debits and credits and maintain individual member financial records
- Reconcile general ledger accounts on a regular basis
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
- Perform tax-related tasks, such as filing tax returns and ensuring compliance with tax regulations
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Generate financial reports and statements as needed
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
Skills:
- Proficiency in bookkeeping principles and practices
- Strong knowledge of tax regulations and requirements
- Experience with general ledger reconciliation
- Ability to perform 10-key typing accurately and efficiently
-Experience with accounting software, as well as Google Workspace, Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team and as support for Finance Committee.
