Job Title: Bookkeeper & Administrative Assistant
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper & Administrative Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate should have 4-5 years of hands-on experience in bookkeeping and a strong understanding of financial principles. S/he should also have some experience is overseeing an office and managing its day to day functioning. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing accurate and timely financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and regulations. The Administrative part of the job requires you to be the point person for the smooth functioning of the office. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to accuracy are crucial for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Transactions:
- Record and classify financial transactions, including but not limited to invoices, receipts, payments, and journal entries.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data entered into the accounting system.
- Month-End Close:
- Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Generate various financial reports for management, providing insights and recommendations as needed.
- Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits and provide necessary documentation.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets.
- Contribute to financial forecasting and variance analysis.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and support cross-functional initiatives.
- Communicate financial insights and trends to management, providing recommendations for improvement.
- Administrative Proficiency:
- Responsible for overall office administration, paying bills, maintaining office supplies and general upkeep of the office environment.
- Software Proficiency:
- Utilize accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) proficiently to perform bookkeeping tasks efficiently.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3-5 years of proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles.
- 3-5 years of proven experience in an administrative role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
