Position Summary
The Bilingual Benefits and Leave Administrator is responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability. Coordination of FMLA and LOA with employees and their medical professional.
Responsibilities
The Benefits and Leave Administrator will perform duties including, but not limited to:
- Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
- Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes.
- Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility.
- Enrolls employees with carriers and process life status changes.
- Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
- Responds to worker’s compensation claims from initial injury report to data requests from third party administrators.
- Assists with the open enrollment process.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding Benefits and Leave.
- Interprets and administers leave programs and policies in accordance with the applicable federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, USERRA, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, etc.).
- Manages all administrative aspects of leaves to include tracking hours used/taken and working closely with the HR and Payroll to ensure that pay for associates is accurate and correct.
- Works closely with associates to ensure that all relevant completed medical documentation is submitted for timely review. Maintains appropriate contact with all associates on leave and coordinates all aspects of return to work for associates on leave.
- Administers STD/LTD programs and vendor relationships. Ensures that STD claims are coordinated with FMLA or general medical cases.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Human Resources or Human Services field preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish in order to support Spanish language employees.
- At least 2 years of experience in benefits administration and human resources.
- HR certification(s) desired.
- Strong computer skills including Office, Word, Excel, Teams, etc.
- Experience with multi-state and remote teams.
- Working knowledge/experience with federal and state regulations as it relates to benefit and Leave management (FMLA, COBRA, FLSA, etc.)
