We currently seek to fill the role of Administrative Assistant-Engineering to provide all clerical functions for the Production Engineering Department. This role will process all capital orders in and out of Production Engineering and be responsible for updating technical manuals and maintaining timekeeping and project databases, all while advancing KBC’s mission of being a forward-thinking, collaborative, and ethical business.
Responsibilities
- Under direction of the Production Engineering Manager, oversees all Capital Orders entering and leaving the Production Engineering Department.
- Assembles pertinent information for job files and distributes to the proper personnel.
- Interfaces with all other KBC personnel on shop orders.
- Logs all required information into the system.
- Ensures proper manuals, approvals, certifications, references, and quotation materials are sent to customers in a timely manner, as well as checking drawings for all required information.
- Takes the lead on updating/creating technical manuals with the support of engineers.
- Work with contract technical writers as needed to accelerate the development of new manuals.
- Manage the project schedule for the release of new manuals.
- Assists the Managers in Production Engineering in updating all department procedures.
- Creates engineering technical manual CDs for customers per request.
- Provides clerical support and assistance for the Production Engineering Department.
- Prepares and maintains electronic engineering records and files, including a transmittal file and others as required. Key recipient and responsible to import source data into the engineering database.
- Schedules appointments when required, handles routine communications, arranges events/meetings when needed.
- Courteous handling of all phone calls, directing any urgent situations to the appropriate personnel. Acts as back-up to the Receptionist when needed.
- Keeps current attendance records for engineering personnel for vacation or other absences as required.
- Performs other related duties including report generation as directed by the Managers in Production Engineering.

- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Must effectively interface with all departments and represent the Production Engineering Department in a highly professional manner.
- Desired candidate will have experience in SolidWorks Composer, Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator and Photo Shop software for technical manual creation, as well as knowledge of Access DB Software.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Experience working with a technical department in an administrator role is preferred.
