We are looking to hire an experienced bakery manager to supervise our baking staff and manage all bakery operations. The bakery manager's responsibilities include maintaining accurate financial records, conducting interviews, supervise baking staff and ensure that all bakery operations run smoothly. They take inventory of baking supplies, resolve customer complaints, and address poor staff performance. Bakery manager should also be able to discard stale or spoiled bakery items. Be able to create and maintain a pleasant work environment, ensuring high levels of organizational effectiveness, communication and safety you will manage the companys bills and ensure all invoices are paid in a timely manner. Responsibilities will include receiving and preparing accounts payable invoices, handling expense reports, and assisting with audits. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, computer savvy, and has a strong understanding of accounting, payments, budgets, and food handling.
Responsibilities
- Bachelors degree bakery, restaurant management, food service management, or related field is preferred.
- Food protection manager certification (FPMC) or Foodservice management professional (FMP) accreditation is advantageous.
- Proven experience working in the food service industry.
- Sound knowledge of labor laws as well as food health and safety regulations.
- Regularly inspecting all work areas to ensure compliance with food health and safety regulations.
- Preparing accounts payable invoices
- Making payments promptly
- Providing support for audits
- Preparing expense reports
- Ensure that all items are invoiced and paid on time
- Manage contract and price negotiations with office vendors, service providers.
- Serve as the point person for Office Manager duties including:
- Maintenance
- Ingredient ordering
- Mailing
- Supplies
- Equipment
- Bills
- Errands
- Shopping
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excell and QuickBooks.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and best practices
- Excellent problem-solving and research skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize workt
- A creative mind with an ability to suggest improvements
- Proven experience managing a bakery.
- A food handler's license.
- The ability to work under pressure
