ASSOCIATE ORGANIZATION DEVELOPMENT (OD) CONSULTANT

(VMS) is a small business established in 1990 with corporate headquarters in San Diego County and resources in Arizona, Colorado, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, and Washington State. VMS is a management consulting firm that specializes in Value Management (VE studies and FACD/Design Charrettes) and Organizational Effectiveness (Strategic Planning, Business Process Improvement and Executive Coaching). Our clients are primarily State, Local and Federal agencies.
We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Organization Development (OD) Consultant to support senior consultants in the facilitation and delivery of OD, strategic planning, team development, large group facilitation, and other client-facing activities. Candidates should have strong communication skills, be self-motivated, detail oriented, quality-driven, and team-focused. An ability to coordinate and collaborate with multiple team members and clients across multiple projects is important to the successful execution of this role. The majority of work related to this role is taking place in a virtual environment but travel to client locations is increasing and may be up to 40%. Upward progression to a more senior consulting position is expected based on performance and demonstrated aptitude.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with senior consultants to develop project plans, facilitate client-facing sessions and/or complete task orders.
- Organize logistics, handouts, materials, etc.
- Develop and deploy surveys and/or conduct interviews, perform qualitative analysis of results, and develop presentation materials.
- Manage pre- and post-workshop communication with consultants/team members to ensure everyone is aware of schedules, agendas, project status, etc.
- Support other VMS team members in other business units, if needed.
- Communications / deliverable writing, editing, formatting and compilation.
- Manage project documents in SharePoint, Google Drive, ShareFile, etc.
- Update project status and other related information in Ajera (VMS accounting and project management database).
- Follow VMS standards pertaining to quality, client requirements, processes, and procedures.
- Air travel up to 40% may be required to assist on onsite workshops.
- Support management and quality team with miscellaneous administrative tasks as directed (examples: book rooms and conference space; coordinate catered lunch for team meeting; draft flyers for conferences; sort and compile project metrics).
- Continuously develop work-related skills and knowledge. Observe, learn, and apply the skills you learn on other projects.
REQUIREMENTS & PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent working knowledge and experience with MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Adobe products.
- Strong written and verbal communication, attention to detail, organizational, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- A minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Organization Development or psychology, or related field required; master’s degree strongly preferred.
- Experience using online collaboration tools such as Miro strongly preferred.

LOCATION
Home Office - must be able to have a home office capable of supporting work requirements and on-line meetings (Teams, Webex, Zoom, etc.) without being disturbed. Computer and other necessary equipment will be provided by the company.
Geographically - Western U.S. preferred but not required.
COMPENSATION
Salary range for this position is $55,000 to $80,000 depending on experience and capabilities. VMS offers competitive compensation and health care benefits, 20 days personal time off to start, 10 holidays per year, and matching 401k Plan.
