Position: Business Development Consultant (Remote - US West Coast)
As a Business Development Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our outbound sales operations in the US. Your focus will be cultivating partnerships with new businesses, learning what makes small businesses tick, discovering how to craft solutions to help them achieve their goals, improving efficiency, and cultivating satisfied employees.
What you will spend your time on:
- Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities through targeted local cold calling, engaging, consulting, and closing deals.
- Developing a deep understanding of each partner's business, including products/services, consumer demographics, economic models, and revenue drivers.
- Owning the contract negotiation process, addressing critical elements such as margins, discounts, and other factors to achieve partner goals.
- Consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets, driving market growth in partner quality and revenue.
- Collaborating with Customer Success teams post-close to ensure a seamless transition of accounts and align on merchant strategy.
We're excited about you if you have:
- Proven success in a sales role within a territory or for a product
- Inside sales experience over the phone/email and social selling
- A proven depth of knowledge and experience in fast-cycle selling
- A high level of understanding and entry-level experience in relationship management with small to mid-sized accounts
- Strong sales orientation with the skill to overcome objections using sales instinct and judgment
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience in meeting sales quotas, sales negotiation, and problem-solving with evidence of personal results
- Ability to follow directions and guidance and keep up with the "admin"
- Resilience and ability to manage rejection well
- The natural drive to inspire passion in others
- Adaptability and a talent for thinking quickly on your feet
- Strong self-reflection and facility to take ownership of your performance,
- A coachable attitude that's always looking for ways to improve
- The capability to face difficult discussions head-on
- The capacity to balance multiple priorities
- A high standard of integrity and work ethic
- Excellent listening skills, assertiveness, persistence, and persuasiveness
- Fluency in a language in addition to English is a plus
